Men’s Health Month 2022
June is Men’s Health Month! In addition, June 13-19 is International Men’s Health Week. These are both annual observances aimed at raising awareness of preventable health problems and encouraging early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. Every June, health fairs and other health education and outreach activities across the world focus on encouraging men, boys, and their families to take control of male mental and physical health issues with the proper screenings and care. This year the focus is on staying active, getting screened and setting a healthy example for the next generation.

With Father’s Day quickly approaching, this is the perfect time to encourage the men in your life to take care of themselves by eating right, exercising, focusing on their mental health and seeking regular medical checkups to prevent disease and injury. In addition, you can wear blue on the Friday before Father’s Day to show your support! The Wear BLUE campaign was created by Men’s Health Network to raise awareness about the importance of male health and to encourage men to live longer and healthier lives. Participating in the campaign and wearing blue also helps raise awareness and money for education about men’s need to seek regular checkups.
The most important way to get involved, though, is to schedule your preventative appointments and focus on healthy lifestyle habits, or encourage the men in your life to do so. To learn more, click here!
